Meet Heidi...
Hi there!
I'm Heidi, a mom of 6, certified breastfeeding specialist, and registered nurse with over 27 years' experience in specialties that include NICU and RN birth assistant.
Being a part of other women's motherhood journeys is near and dear to my heart. My own birth history is varied, as I experienced two normal spontaneous deliveries, an emergency C-section for preterm twins, followed by a VBAC with our last biological child. My family and I also had the joy of fostering a preemie baby, who became part of our family through adoption. I currently work at a local birth resort as an RN birth assistant, and one of my favorite parts of that role is getting to connect with families during postpartum home visits for moms and babies.
Over the years, it's been a blessing to care for precious preemie and newborn babies here in the Roanoke Valley in both the hospital and birth center setting. Having spent many years teaching and answering the questions that go along with first steps into parenthood, I've been able to see how much that support means to new moms and dads.
It's out of that love of encouraging families that The Very Best Mommas was born. My mission is for moms to feel confident and equipped as they step into motherhood. So, if you're preparing to bring your first baby home...you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
As a local nurse, I come alongside moms to help with newborn care, feeding, calming and sleep routines...making your first days at home feel peaceful and manageable.
Whether you prefer basic supportive care or extra touches like home tidying and in-home meal assistance, I'm here to gently support you in the first tender newborn days.
